Nailed it! Yum. Good veggie options too. Get the California Toast and Halloumi Sando and share. You may wait 10-15 minutes but it's worth it!

Really lovely aesthetic, food is lovely and have some nice signature dishes, but very small so difficult to get a seat

Though I didn't see much of Sheffield during my trip there, I'm happy to have checked out Lucky Fox! The crowd and ambiance were both pretty hipster (so, my ideal setting, if we're being honest), but without that "trying-too-hard" vibe that a lot of cafés put on to attract customers. I ordered the waffles and fresh fruit, which were lightly sweet and perfectly filling. I also gave their flat white a try, and it was a lovely drink. My friend and I also decided to split the fried mac & cheese balls as somewhat of an appetizer, and they were surprisingly incredible - definitely more of a baked mac texture, but they were served over a bed of rocket, tomatoes, and parmesan, and covered with Frank's hot sauce, all of which were redeeming factors. One of those was more than enough though, so I'd recommend skipping the appetizer unless you're there with two or more others. I only saw the Lucky Shake in all its glory for a brief moment, but I almost wish I had skipped the waffles and gone for that. What an experience that would have been.

Popped in here for Sunday brunch and I can't believe I didn't go sooner! Lucky Fox is a small "Brooklyn-inspired" café bringing Americana vibes to the distinctly hip Division Street. Everything from the décor to the beer selection to the bizarre (and admittedly delicious) Lucky Shake does indeed scream Williamsburg. They're open all day, but brunch seems to be what they do best. I enjoyed my waffles and fresh fruit, which had a pleasing cinnamon flavor. I don't like whipped cream much, so I was happy to find out that it comes on the side. My friend had good things to say about her smoked salmon bagel, which came with a solid inch of salmon. The coffee is nothing to trek across town for, but is reasonably priced for the quality. Feeling adventurous, my friend and I decided to go for Lucky Shakes after polishing off our breakfast trays. What a wild ride. Whipped cream, hot fudge, fresh strawberries (see mom? I eat fruit), a donut, and a strawberry milkshake....needless to say, I only had about a third of it before giving up, but what a flavorful third it was. Man, I really need to start eating vegan again. If you're coming here for the novelty of the shake, go light on the food - it could be an entree on its own.

Sheffield has these little gems in abundance it seems at the moment. The Lucky Fox has a rustic, chilled out feel as per the usual with hipsters. I had the club sandwich, usually that means BLT - but not this was something more special; bacon, cheese, chicken, lettuce, tomato and Parmesan fries. Wow. The beer was a bit expensive, 4-5 quid for a can of something American (Brooklyn, Sierra Nevada etc) - but given the environment, it's not a begrudging purchase. Go there, order the chicken or pancakes and rejoice - don't order poached egg and watercress like my girlfriend, she had serious food envy over mine!
